CAROLYN DEFALCO

Associate Product Manager, Instrumentation Laboratory. Carolyn grew up in Toronto, Canada before pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience at Bucknell University in the United States. Throughout her education and professional experiences, she developed a passion for the life sciences and moved to Boston to pursue a career in Marketing for diagnostics. Carolyn has been with Instrumentation Laboratory for over three years and previously worked as a Product Specialist before taking on her current role as Associate Product Manager on the Worldwide Marketing team. Carolyn is focused on coagulation reagents for hemophilia and anticoagulants testing.

QUICK REVIEW

The term DOAC (pronounced 'DOH-ack') stands for 'Direct Oral AntiCoagulant' and refers to a group of new anticoagulant medications. An anticoagulant is a medica- tion that either treats or prevents blood clots, often called a 'blood thinner'.
